Nordic Bakery I : Golden Square

Nordic Bakery is a beautiful Scandinavian-style café. It is a peaceful meeting place in a frantic city – a space where visual clutter and noise is eliminated.

From the earliest days we worked closely with Finnish founder Jali Wahlsten to assist him to realise the right environment for the Nordic Bakery concept he envisioned; he wanted the Nordic Bakery to be "just like any cafe you'd find across Scandinavia," serving food and drink that "someone will be eating at the same moment in Copenhagen or Helsinki". For the appearance of the cafe he wanted plainness and directness, away from the fussy design gimmicks and hot air cappuccino most London franchises serve up.
